Lincoln and District Citizens Advice Bureau Ltd

What We Do

Lincoln and District CAB can help you in lots of different ways.

We give free, confidential, impartial and independent advice on a wide range of subjects, including:

We will never tell you to do something.

We will only guide you. How the problem is managed is your choice and nobody else's. We will give you all the support and information you need.

Your problem will remain private

Nothing that is learned by the CAB, including the fact of your visit, will be passed on to anyone outside the CAB, unless you give express permission. This means a CAB worker may discuss your case with a colleague, Bureau Manager, or Specialist Support workers, but with no-one outside the service.

Your visit to CAB will cost nothing

Lincoln CAB is a completely free service and believes that it is everyone's right to use the law and other services. These services should not depend on income.

Not just a signpost

Some people think that we are only a signposting organisation, putting people in touch with other services that are better placed to help than the local CAB. But this is only a small part of our work. Most of our workload is giving advice.

Extra Help

We also run projects for groups of people that have particular advice and information needs – for example, people whose lives have been affected by mental health problems, migrant workers, and people who wish to learn how to manage their money better.

Working for change

As well as providing help to people that need it with particular problems, we feed anonymous information to Citizens Advice, the National Organisation so that it can be used in local and national social policy work.
